Authenticated PHP execution via traversed template path
Published Mar 23, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in Horde Groupware Webmail Edition 5.2.22 allows remote authenticated users to execute local PHP files through edit.php. The Trean Tagsearch block appends params[template] directly to its template directory before including the resulting .inc path, so traversal segments escape that directory. The published exploit requires a valid account, a Trean portal block, and a local PHP payload, then executes that payload with www-data privileges.
