Information disclosure via JPEG2000 buffer over-read
Published Feb 13, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Foxit Reader 9.7.0.29455 allows remote attackers to disclose process memory through a crafted JPEG2000 file. The JPEG2000 parser fails to validate user-supplied image data before reading past the end of an allocated buffer. A target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file; the resulting disclosure can help bypass protections for a separate code-execution flaw.
