Authenticated profile-picture overwrite via unchecked username
Published Feb 7, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Missing authorization in Bludit 3.10.0 allows remote authenticated users to replace another account's profile picture through an admin endpoint. The ajax/profile-picture-upload.php handler accepts a client-controlled username and begins the upload without verifying authority over the named account. Editor-level access is sufficient, and successful exploitation overwrites another user's displayed profile image without changing broader account privileges.
