Path traversal in Gurux GXDLMS Director through 8.5.1905.1301 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to execute code via OBIS updates. The OBIS downloader accepts traversal-bearing names from an unencrypted update manifest and writes attacker-controlled executable or DLL content outside its intended directory. Exploitation requires control of the HTTP update path and results in code running after reboot or the next application launch, even without add-ins installed.
