Stored script execution via client-side-only validation
Published May 5, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in WTI Like Post 1.4.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run script in visitors' browsers via admin settings. The admin settings handler relies on client-side checks, accepts event-handler payloads, stores them, and renders them on public posts without effective server-side neutralization. Administrator access is required to submit the payload, after which visitors to public posts execute the stored script.
