Stored script execution via crafted comment tags
Published Apr 29, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in Pega Platform before 8.2.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser through comment tags. Pega identifies comment tags as the storage locus but has not published the deficient validation or output-encoding operation. A user must be able to save a crafted comment, and another user must view the affected content for the stored script to execute in that viewer's browser.
