Administrator access via Apache Solr authentication bypass
Published May 27, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Authentication bypass in Trend Micro InterScan Web Security Virtual Appliance 6.5 allows remote attackers to gain administrator access. The Apache Solr component lacks proper authentication, and the proxy service on its default port 8080 relays unauthenticated requests to internal Solr services. The proxy must be set to the affected port; successful bypass grants administrator access to part of the application.
