Browser script execution via unvalidated logged URLs
Published May 27, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Trend Micro InterScan Web Security Virtual Appliance 6.5 allows remote attackers to tamper with its web interface. The logged-URL handler fails to validate user-supplied data before rendering it, allowing arbitrary script injection. Exploitation requires a target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file; the injected script can alter the interface, and root execution requires chaining another flaw.
