CVE-2020-8600Network attack vector

Authentication bypass via TempFileName path traversal

Published Mar 18, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Path traversal in Trend Micro Worry-Free Business Security 9.0, 9.5, and 10.0 allows remote attackers to bypass authentication. The cgiRecvFile.exe endpoint uses the attacker-controlled TempFileName path in file operations without properly validating or constraining it, enabling manipulation of a key file. No prior authentication is required, and successful exploitation grants access otherwise protected by the affected authentication mechanism.
