Snapshot-service interruption via nil snapshot dereference

Denial of service in Kubernetes CSI Snapshotter 2.1.0 through 2.1.2 and 3.0.0 through 3.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to stop snapshots. checkAndUpdateSnapshotClass returns nil after SetDefaultSnapshotClass fails on a missing PVC, and syncSnapshotByKey dereferences that nil snapshot. Exploitation requires permission to create classless VolumeSnapshot objects referencing nonexistent PVCs; repeated reconciliation keeps the controller in a crashloop while other Kubernetes functions remain available.
