Authenticated file disclosure via unsafe OpenXML parsing
Published Jun 16, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
XXE in OX App Suite 7.10.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read local files through malicious OpenXML documents. The office document-conversion path unmarshals attacker-supplied XML with a stream reader that resolves external entities into local content or outbound HTTP requests. Exploitation requires an account and opening or editing an uploaded document; successful requests can expose server files and internal network resources.
