Authenticated administrator escalation via user-edit parameters
Published Jan 30, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Privilege escalation in Kronos webTA 3.8.x and later 3.x before 4.0 allows remote authenticated users to gain administrator access. The com.threeis.webta.H402editUser servlet processes crafted account identifiers, passwords, and role fields to assign administrative privileges despite the caller's delegated role. Timekeeper, Master Timekeeper, or HR Admin access is required, and successful exploitation grants administrative control within the application.
