Improper access control in all ABB Ability System 800xA Information Management versions allows local users to alter archives or halt history services. Weak access-control settings on same-machine objects used by Windows processes for inter-process data exchange permit crafted local software to inject garbage or specially crafted data. An authenticated account able to log on to a system node and execute an application is required; corrupted runtime values can enter the archive, and clients can lose history access.
