CVE-2020-8475Network attack vector

License-handling denial via crafted web-service messages

Published Apr 29, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Improper input validation in ABB Central Licensing System 5.1 and later allows remote attackers to block license handling over the network. The CLS web service accepts specially crafted messages without sufficient input-data validation and allows them to halt license processing. Network access to an affected client-server node is required; engineering functions can fail to launch while operator functions usually continue with warning messages.
