Unauthenticated code execution via executable resume upload
Published Jan 31, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in Simplejobscript.com SJS 1.66 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute PHP code through a resume submission. The unauthenticated /apply handler in controllers/page_apply.php accepts a PHP file as a resume, stores it under uploads/cvs, and leaves it executable by the web server. Execution requires locating the uniqid-generated filename; directory indexing, a separate SQL injection, or access to application records can reveal that path.
