Authenticated OS command injection via nslookup form
Published Jan 29, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
OS command injection in Ruckus ZoneFlex R500 firmware 104.0.0.0.1347 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary operating-system commands via a network request. The hidden /forms/nslookupHandler endpoint passes the nslookuptarget parameter to command processing without neutralizing shell metacharacters, allowing a value such as |cat${IFS} to append commands. Exploitation requires valid device authentication and network reachability; successful commands can read data, alter device state, or interrupt service with the privileges of the vulnerable process.
