Reflected XSS via unsanitized System Info data
Published Jan 28, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Reflected XSS in Elementor for WordPress before 2.8.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a targeted user's browser. The elementor-system-info page renders attacker-controlled diagnostic request data without sufficient sanitization, allowing HTML and script content to enter its response. Exploitation requires an authenticated target to open a crafted request; the script then runs in the site's origin and can read or modify data available to that session.
