Administrator account takeover via forged password change
Published Jan 28, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Cups Easy (Purchase & Inventory) 1.0 allows remote attackers to take over an administrator account. The passwordmychange.php endpoint processes a cross-site POST containing attacker-chosen username and password values without requiring a request-specific CSRF token. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to load attacker-controlled content, after which the attacker can sign in with the chosen password.
