CVE-2020-8298Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary command execution via crafted file-operation arguments

Published Mar 4, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Command injection in pillys fs-path before 0.0.25 allows attackers to execute arbitrary shell commands through crafted file-path arguments. Public records identify copy, copySync, remove, and removeSync as the affected methods but do not disclose the exact command-building operation that fails to neutralize the input. Reachability depends on a consuming Node.js application passing attacker-controlled paths to one of those APIs, and commands run with that application's privileges.
