Denial of service via TLSWrap use-after-free
Published Jan 6, 2021 · Updated Apr 30, 2025
Use-after-free in Node.js before 10.23.1, 12.20.1, 14.15.4, and 15.5.1 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory through TLS writes. The node::StreamBase::Write path passes a newly allocated WriteWrap to node::TLSWrap::DoWrite and returns that object after its lifetime has ended when the write succeeds. Reachability requires an application path that writes to a TLS-enabled socket, and successful exploitation can interrupt the process through memory corruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
