CVE-2020-8149Network attack vector

Remote command execution via unsanitized shell arguments

Published May 15, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Logkitty before 0.7.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary shell commands via crafted log requests. In src/android/adb.ts, execSync concatenates adbPath and applicationId into shell command strings instead of passing them as isolated arguments, so metacharacters alter command execution. The vulnerable path is reached when attacker-controlled values reach Android log operations; successful execution runs with the CLI process privileges and can affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
