CVE-2020-8140Public exploit

Local code execution via DYLD library injection

Published Mar 20, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Code injection in Nextcloud Desktop Client before 2.6.3 for macOS allows local users to execute arbitrary code at client startup. At launch, the client accepts DYLD_INSERT_LIBRARIES from its environment, causing macOS to load attacker-selected code into the client process. Exploitation requires high local privileges and user interaction; injected code runs with the client process's permissions.
