JavaScript execution via unescaped delivery query string
Published Feb 4, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Reflected XSS in Revive Adserver 5.0.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through the public afr.php endpoint. The script incorporates the raw query string into a destination value and interpolates it into a setTimeout JavaScript string without context-specific escaping. A victim must open a crafted URL; HTTP-only session cookies limit direct session theft in versions 3.2.2 and later, while older deployments can expose administrative sessions under specific conditions.
