CVE-2020-8105Public exploit

Root command execution via unsanitized wireless settings

Published Dec 20, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

OS command injection in Abode iota firmware before 1.0.2.23_6.9V_dev_t2_homekit_RF_2.0.19_s2_kvsABODE oz allows remote attackers root access. The wirelessConnect handler passes the ssid, wpapsk, and key parameters into system commands without sanitization, and quoted input can be closed to append a payload. Access to the device's local network and the hidden management panel's hardcoded credentials is sufficient to obtain full control of the hub.
