CVE-2020-7980Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary command execution via JSON Q field

Published Jan 25, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

OS command injection in Intellian Aptus Web 1.24 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through a crafted JSON request. The cgi-bin/libagent.cgi handler treats the Q value inside an EXEC_CMD JSON request as an operating-system command and returns its output. The authentication requirement is unresolved because the record does not establish whether a valid default-account sid cookie is mandatory; the public proof of concept demonstrates root execution.
