CVE-2020-7958

Fingerprint-image disclosure via factory testing commands

Published Apr 14, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Information disclosure in OnePlus 7 Pro firmware before 10.0.3.GM21BA allows local users with root privileges to read fingerprint images. The fingerprint Trusted Application exposes factory testing commands beyond those needed for authentication and returns raw sensor bitmaps to the Rich Execution Environment. Root access to the Rich Execution Environment is required, and exploitation discloses identifiable biometric data normally confined to the Trusted Execution Environment.
