Stored XSS via unneutralized location field

Published Jan 22, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Stored XSS in the Eaton 5P 850 web interface allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to execute scripts via Ubicacion SAI. The interface stores administrator-supplied Ubicacion SAI content and renders it in a page without neutralizing script-capable input. Administrator access and a separate user's interaction are required; the script runs in that user's browser context and can expose or modify session-accessible data.
