Artifact dependency disclosure via unencrypted resolution
Published Feb 21, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cleartext transmission in the JetBrains Scala plugin before 2019.2.1 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to read artifact dependency traffic. The plugin's artifact dependency resolver uses an unencrypted connection for some dependency requests, exposing their contents in transit. JetBrains has not disclosed which dependencies or resolver code paths are affected; exposure requires access to the network path used during resolution.
