Arbitrary file execution via privileged file receipt
Published Oct 27, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper input validation in HelpU Viewer 2018.5.21.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to create and execute arbitrary files. The viewer accepts a file pushed by the agent outside the file-transfer menu, fails to constrain its destination directory, and handles it with administrator privileges. Exploitation requires an authenticated agent interaction and user participation in the session, after which attacker-supplied code executes with the viewer's elevated rights.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
