CVE-2020-7675Public exploit

Arbitrary code execution via evaluated color argument

Published Jun 10, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Code injection in Mike Erickson cd-messenger 2.7.26 and earlier allows context-dependent attackers to execute JavaScript via the color argument. The line method in messenger-node.js passes the caller-controlled color value to eval instead of validating it against supported chalkline colors. Exploitation requires a consuming application to pass attacker-controlled input as color and runs code with that application's privileges.
