Authenticated file disclosure via whitelisted symbolic links
Published May 29, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Arbitrary file read in Snyk Broker before 4.80.0 allows remote authenticated users to read host files through brokered requests. The request allowlist accepts whitelisted paths reached through attacker-created symbolic links, so file access follows the link to an otherwise disallowed target. The attacker must have access to Snyk's internal network; exploitation exposes readable Broker-host files without reported modification or service interruption.
