Arbitrary command execution via compassCommand option
Published Apr 6, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
OS command injection in Quaertym compass-compile 0.0.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via options. Compass.prototype.compile merges caller-controlled options, generateCommand concatenates options.compassCommand into a shell command, and child_process.exec executes it without validation or quoting. Exposure depends on a consuming Node.js application passing attacker-controlled values into compile; the package does not provide a standalone network service.
