Arbitrary command execution via unsanitized options
Published Mar 15, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
OS command injection in closure-compiler-stream 0.1.15 and earlier allows attackers to execute arbitrary commands via crafted options. The exported function accepts an attacker-controlled options argument and passes its unsanitized values into compiler command construction in index.js. Exploitation requires a consuming build workflow to pass untrusted option values, after which injected commands run with that workflow's privileges.
