Arbitrary command execution via unsanitized options
Published Mar 15, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Command injection in juanfran gulp-scss-lint 1.0.0 and earlier allows attackers to execute arbitrary commands through crafted options. In src/command.js, generateCommand concatenates attacker-controlled src and option values into a shell command that child_process.exec executes. Exploitation requires an application or build task to pass attacker-controlled options to the plugin, and successful commands run with that process's privileges.
