DLL substitution in all versions of EcoStruxure Machine Expert – Basic and SoMachine Basic allows attackers to inject code into a controller. The programming software loads a substituted DLL from an untrusted location and incorporates its code into the project transferred to the PLC. Exploitation requires access to the engineering environment, the context of a local user authorized to run the software, and user interaction.
