CVE-2020-7478Network attack vector

Unauthenticated file disclosure via unvalidated update path

Published Mar 23, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Path traversal in Distributed Data Systems IGSS 14 and earlier allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files through the IGSS Update Service. IGSSupdateservice, which listens on TCP port 12414 by default, uses a user-supplied path in file operations without proper validation. Exploitation requires no authentication but does require the service to be enabled and reachable on an unrestricted or shared network; disclosed files are read with SYSTEM access.
