CVE-2020-7477Network attack vector

Service interruption via crafted Modbus command

Published Mar 23, 2020 · Updated May 28, 2026

Improper condition handling in Schneider Electric Modicon Quantum and Premium controllers allows remote attackers to interrupt service via Modbus. The Modbus command-processing path fails to handle an unusual or exceptional condition, but Schneider Electric has not disclosed the exact command or failed check. Unauthenticated network access to Modbus is sufficient against 140NOE771x1 7.0 and earlier, all 140CPU65xxxxx versions, and all Premium processors with integrated Ethernet.
