CVE-2020-7455

Kernel and process-memory disclosure via FTP length miscalculation

Published May 13, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in FreeBSD libalias FTP handling allows attackers to disclose kernel or natd process memory through crafted packets. The FTP protocol handler miscalculates a rewritten packet length and reads beyond the allocated packet buffer. Exposure requires an affected host to process attacker-controlled FTP traffic through in-kernel NAT or the userspace natd service.
