Authenticated command execution via network parameter injection
Published May 1, 2020 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
OS command injection in Fonality Trixbox Community Edition 1.2.0 through 2.8.0.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. The endpoint_devicemap.php handler passes the network POST parameter into a shell command without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Valid maintenance credentials and network access to the web interface are required; injected commands run as the asterisk user, which can invoke sudo nmap to obtain root privileges.
