CVE-2020-7288

Local privilege escalation via undisclosed mechanism

Published May 8, 2020 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Privilege escalation in McAfee EDR for Mac before 3.1.0 Hotfix 1 allows local users to perform functions beyond their assigned access. McAfee has not published the affected component or the incorrect operation that permits a script or program to cross the local privilege boundary. Exploitation requires local low-privilege execution, and the documented consequence is access to functions otherwise denied to that user.
