CVE-2020-7277

Reduced endpoint protection via stoppable security processes

Published Apr 15, 2020 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Protection mechanism failure in McAfee Endpoint Security for Windows before 10.7.0 April 2020 Update allows local users to stop processes. McAfee has not published which process-protection control fails or what operation permits the process termination. Local execution is required, and stopping the affected security processes reduces endpoint protection without a reported privilege gain or direct data access.
