Local autorun entry alteration via ACL bypass
Published Apr 15, 2020 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Improper privilege management in McAfee Endpoint Security for Windows before 10.7.0 April 2020 Update allows local users to alter autorun entries. The autorun start-up protection accepts manipulated parameters without enforcing its access-control rule, allowing protected program entries to be renamed or deleted. Local low-privileged access and user interaction are required, and successful exploitation prevents selected startup programs from running as configured.
