Protected file deletion via symbolic-link redirection
Published May 8, 2020 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Improper privilege handling in McAfee Endpoint Security for Windows before 10.7.0 Hotfix 199847 allows local users to delete protected files. The attack requires a malicious script or program to run locally, and the documented consequence is deletion of otherwise inaccessible files.
