Remote code execution via traceroute target injection
Published Jan 20, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
OS command injection in Comtech Stampede FX-1010 7.4.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through its web interface. The Diagnostics Trace Route page passes shell metacharacters from the Target IP address field into an operating-system command without neutralization. Administrative access is required, although the documented comtech account and password can provide that access in some deployments; successful injection executes commands on the device.
