Unauthenticated read-only access via client-side result tampering
Published Jan 17, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper authentication in Amcrest Web Server 2.520.AC00.18.R allows remote attackers to view all interface options without credentials. The login page places its authentication decision in returned JavaScript, and the interface trusts the client-modifiable result parameter as true. Network access to the web interface is sufficient; the bypass permits viewing every option but provides no reported ability to modify them.
