Account disruption via forged administrative requests
Published Jan 23, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Umbraco CMS 8.2.2 allows remote attackers to disable, enable, or delete user accounts. The Users API endpoints process cross-origin form POSTs carrying the victim's administrative cookie without rejecting the forged requests. An authenticated administrator must visit an attacker-controlled page or follow a prepared link, after which targeted accounts can be disabled, re-enabled, or deleted.
