Local code execution via undisclosed installer flaw

Arbitrary code execution in HPE disk-drive firmware installers in SPP 2018.06.0, 2018.09.0, and 2018.11.0 allows local users to run code. The Supplemental Update / Online ROM Flash Component for Linux x64 contains the affected installer, but HPE has not published the erroneous operation or accepted input that triggers execution. Exploitation requires local access to an HPE server running Linux and invocation of an affected installer; successful exploitation executes code in the installer's security context.
