CVE-2020-7079

Arbitrary code execution via cross-file certificate reuse

Published Apr 17, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Improper signature validation in Autodesk Dynamo Sandbox 2.5.0 and 2.5.1 allows attackers to execute code through crafted DLL files. Its automatic feature-package loader accepts a certificate issued for one official file as valid for a different, malicious DLL. Exploitation requires tricking a user into placing the DLL in the installation area, after which it runs with the user's process privileges.
