CVE-2020-7062Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Remote service crash via uninitialized progress data

Published Feb 27, 2020 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Null pointer dereference in PHP 7.2.x before 7.2.28, 7.3.x before 7.3.15, and 7.4.x before 7.4.3 allows remote attackers to crash PHP. At the multipart end event, the session upload-progress callback separates and updates progress->data even when a failed upload left that value uninitialized. Reachability requires file uploads, upload-progress tracking, disabled session.upload_progress.cleanup, and a failed crafted upload; the reported consequence is loss of service availability.
