CVE-2020-7058Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via editable input string

Published Jan 15, 2020 · Updated Nov 18, 2024

Command injection in Cacti 1.2.8 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code via a crafted data-input command string. The data_input.php workflow stores an administrator-edited Script/Command Input String, which the poller executes as an operating-system command when the associated graph runs. Cacti disputes the claim as a false alarm; exploitation requires authenticated authorization to edit data input methods, a capability intended to define executable commands.
